1. Equipment Overview

The Positive Pressure Cutter Suction Sand Pump is a heavy-duty conveying solution specifically designed for high-concentration, large-particle, and highly abrasive sand-water mixtures. It comprises six key systems: the cutter head, suction pipe, slurry pump body, power system, control system, and positive pressure auxiliary conveying system.

Compared to conventional sand pumps, its core innovation lies in the introduction of “positive pressure conveying.” By generating stable positive pressure at the pump outlet, it significantly enhances long-distance and high-lift sand slurry delivery capabilities, making it ideal for complex working conditions such as river dredging, harbor desilting, land reclamation, and mine tailings transportation.

2. Core Working Principle

The equipment operates on a refined four-stage process: Cutting – Suction – Pressurization – Conveying.

  1. Underwater Cutting: The cutter headat the bottom of the suction pipe, fitted with high-strength alloy cutter teeth, rotates at high speed to break up riverbed sediment, sand, or even weathered rock into conveyable particles.
  2. Suction Generation: The pump creates powerful negative pressure, drawing the sand-water mixture (entrained with sediment particles) into the pump cavity.
  3. Positive Pressure Boosting: This is the key distinction. The impeller inside the pump body centrifugally 做功 (does work) on the sand slurry, converting energy into pressure energy to generate a stable positive pressure of 2-0.5MPa (or higher)at the outlet.
  4. Long-Distance Delivery: Driven by the positive pressure thrust, the sand slurry is ejected through underwater or ground pipelines to designated areas (e.g., dredging sites, stockpiles, or tailings ponds several kilometers away), ensuring efficient and reliable transportation.

3. Core Structure & Technical Advantagessand booster pump

1. High-Strength Cutter Head

  • Material: Cutter teeth are crafted from high-chromium wear-resistant alloyor hard metal, with a hardness exceeding HRC 60. They offer exceptional impact and wear resistance, boasting a service life 3-5 times that of standard manganese steel teeth.
  • Design: Features a multi-tooth, high-torque structure with strong cutting force, easily handling silt, sand layers, and even soft rock formations.

2. High-Efficiency Slurry Pump Body

  • Wet Parts: Impellers, volutes, and other critical components are cast from high-chromium alloy, engineered specifically to resist sand erosion under heavy abrasive conditions.
  • Hydraulic Design: Optimized flow channels minimize clogging risks. Maintains high efficiency (above 80%) even under extreme conditions (up to 60% sand concentration, max particle size 150mm).

3. Positive Pressure Conveying System (Core Selling Point)

  • Overcoming Height/Limitations: Unlike conventional pumps that rely on gravity, positive pressure provides robust thrust. It easily enables 50-100m high-lift deliveryor multi-kilometer long-distance transportation.
  • Pipeline Protection: A stable positive pressure flow field reduces eddy currents and backflow inside pipelines, extending the service life of the conveying system.
  • Terrain Adaptability: Ensures non-return and non-clogging slurry transport across undulating terrain, guaranteeing reliable delivery.

4. Modular & Intelligent Control

  • Modular Design: Available as a skid-mounted or ship-mounted modular unit, facilitating easy installation, commissioning, and relocation for diverse projects.
  • Smart Monitoring: Equipped with a PLC control systemthat real-time monitors pressure, flow, current, and bearing temperatures. It provides fault warnings and automatic protection, supporting remote operation to reduce labor costs.

4. Main Application Scenarios

1. River & Lake Desilting

Efficiently extracts silt and sediment to restore water storage capacity and improve water quality.

2. Harbor & Waterway Dredging

Excavates harbor basins and clears shipping channels, transporting sand to designated spoil areas to ensure navigability for large vessels.

3. Land Reclamation Projects

Conveys seawater or river sand over long distances via pipelines to coastal areas for large-scale infrastructure and land development.

4. Mining & Tailings Management

Extracts mineral slurry and tailings sand for long-distance transport to tailings ponds, a critical device for mine environmental compliance and safe production.

5. Sand Extraction & Washing

Used for inland river and coastal sand mining, as well as slurry transport and dewatering in sand washing plants.

7. Selection & Operation Guidelines

  1. Match Working Conditions: Prior to selection, define five core parameters: medium (sand/slurry/tailings), sand concentration, max particle size, conveying distance, and vertical lift. This ensures we recommend the optimal model.
  2. Power Selection: For off-grid or field operations, diesel engineis preferred. For fixed factories or job sites, electric motor offers higher efficiency and lower costs.
  3. Pipeline Setup: Use high wear-resistant steel pipeor polyurethane wear-resistant pipe for conveyance. Select wall thickness based on positive pressure to minimize wear.
  4. Routine Maintenance: Regularly inspect cutter head teeth wear, pump lubrication, and electrical systems. Maintain peak performance to extend service life.
