At the beginning of 2023, the mangrove reserve along the coast of Johor, Malaysia faced serious erosion – the disappearance of 3.2 kilometers of coastline every year threatened this ecological barrier. The local engineering team finally chose to cooperate with China Taian Yuanyang Pump Industry (TAIAN YUANYANG PUMP) to introduce a customized Slurry Pump unit. With a sand pumping capacity of 500m³/h + 300 meters of pipeline transportation capacity, this unit completed 230,000 cubic meters of sea sand backfill within 3 months without mechanical damage to the mangrove root system, raising the intertidal zone by 1.8 meters and successfully building an ecological embankment.
The sand suction pump unit is mainly composed of five parts: slurry pump, matching diesel engine, high-pressure water pump, high-pressure water pump vacuum device, and transportation pipeline. The unit adopts a direct connection of one pump to two pumps, and the high-pressure water pump is driven by a pulley.
4.What is Slurry Pump?
The essential difference between Slurry Pump and ordinary water pump lies in its wear-resistant structural design:
Impeller: adopts open wide flow channel (200PNS-28 channel width is up to 85mm), allowing gravel ≤25mm to pass
Material: high chromium alloy Cr26 hardness reaches HRC58-62, which is 8 times more wear-resistant than ordinary cast iron
Sealing: Triple mechanical seal + high-pressure flushing system to block the intrusion of abrasive particles (seawater working life > 4000 hours)

Sand pumping platform size: 11.8 meters * 4.2 meters * 1 meter, split structure, middle lower sand suction pipe, more stable, platform installed awning, in hot weather areas, can ensure sunshade, ventilation, more practical.
Sand pumping ship movement: 4 1-ton electric winches, each with 100 meters of wire rope.
One-to-two design: The 178kW diesel engine drives the main pump and the high-pressure vacuum pump simultaneously through a V-belt. When the pipeline is blocked, the belt slips to protect the equipment and avoid the diesel engine from stalling – this is the best choice for changeable working conditions along the coast.
