Project Background: The Chengde Customer’s Second Cooperation Requirement

In June 2022, a customer based in Chengde, Hebei, procured the 350PNS-35 marine sand pump unit from Tai’an Yuanyang Pump Industry for river sand extraction. This slurry pump system operated with remarkable stability for over a year, boasting a production capacity of 200 cubic meters per hour and a conveying distance of 1,500 meters. Such reliable performance enabled the customer to swiftly recoup their initial investment and generate substantial profits, laying a solid foundation for continued collaboration. A year later, on June 16, 2018, the same customer approached Yuanyang Pump Industry with a new procurement request. This time, the project involved conveying sand and mud over an extended distance of 4,000 meters in a different river section. While the customer intended to retain the existing 350PNS-35 marine sand pump for the operation, they sought a cost-effective solution: instead of adding multiple pumps, they required only one booster slurry pump to extend the conveying distance to 4,000 meters, aiming to minimize both operational and labor costs without compromising efficiency.

Selection Process: Professional Calculation and Scheme Confirmation by the Technical Team

The technical team of Yuanyang Pump Industry first conducted an on-site investigation of the construction site. Considering that the sand source is relatively fine and the customer uses 377mm wear-resistant polyethylene pipes, they calculated through the along-distance resistance loss formula that the pipeline resistance is 81.5m. Since the head of the marine sand pump is 35 meters, it was determined that the head of the relay pump must be no less than 46.5 meters. Secondly, considering that the theoretical clear water flow of the first marine sand pump is 1800 cubic meters per hour, the actual working condition is calculated as 1500 cubic meters per hour, and the head requirement is ≥46.5 meters. In addition, it needs to meet the requirements of stable operation, energy saving, environmental protection and easy operation. Therefore, the engineers selected the ZJ300-80 high-head slurry pump. Finally, after calculating the shaft power, it was recommended to match an 8-pole 280kw motor. The customer chose to purchase it by themselves, and the engineering team of Yuanyang Pump Industry designed a matching base and connector to facilitate on-site installation.

Equipment Performance: Parameters and Performance of ZJ300-80 High-Head Slurry Pump

The ZJ300-80 high-head slurry pump has excellent performance parameters, with a flow rate of 1054 cubic meters per hour, a head of 59.2 meters, a rotating speed of 730 rpm, and is matched with an 8-pole 280kw motor. After on-site inspection of this model, the customer signed the contract immediately. Yuanyang Pump Industry assembled and debugged the unit and transported it to the construction site. At present, the equipment has been operating normally, and the sand output is still as high as 200 cubic meters per hour at the conveying distance of 4000 meters.
